Welcome to Avi Publications. A voice presenting “My Father’s Hebrew.”

Welcome

Welcome friends to the Avi Publications official website. Thank you for stopping by. I, the writer and founder of this website, shall endeavor to give you a brief overview of its contents and purpose. This website is designed for a specific person, like yourself, who seeks the “truth” above all else. David, our beloved King, and mentor spoke concerning this “unique” person, and called him a “maskil,” a Hebrew term meaning an “intellectual” person, or more precisely, a man of “understanding.”

“Avi” In Hebrew Means “My Father” - The Creator

This website was created and is maintained, out of loving respect for The Creator, “Avi, my father,” with whom the writer has enjoyed a personal relationship for over 45 years. The research discussed throughout this website is mainly concerned with the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, the “Torah.” When these first five books are written in a book format, they are referred to as the “Chumash.” The research contained herein is based solely on “contextual” observation; thus, there are few references to any sources outside of the Chumash. God spoke these words to Moses, and he recorded them precisely in the Chumash. Therefore, it is with great respect and reverence that each one of these precious words is seriously reflected upon and incorporated into one’s every aspect of life.

What differentiates the research herein is that it recognizes the “dual aspects” of the Torah text, which are the “linguistic” or alphabetic aspect, and the “numerical” or ordinal aspect. In general, biblical scholarship focuses on the linguistic aspect of Torah study, whereas the research on this website is primarily focused on the “numerical structure” of the Torah text; this numerical structure should not be confused with the subjects of “gematria” or “numerology”, at least in the general sense by which they are known. The Hebrew letters of the Torah function both as “consonants” and “numerals.” This study focuses on the consonants as numerals and how they help to define context, the gateway to the foundation of understanding,

This method of research should not be construed in any way to diminish the wealth of Jewish or secular knowledge. The discussions of the numerical structure of the Torah can be likened to a single facet of a precious gemstone. Therefore, the entire focus of this website is concentrated on this one specific facet, the numerical structure of the Torah. It is the brilliance of all the combined facets which beautify the whole of the gemstone.

Concerning One’s Theological Background - The Division

This website does not promote any particular religious group, and it makes every endeavor to be as polite as possible towards all the peoples of the world and their various belief systems. Concerning the path of life, there are only two courses available for man to navigate. He can occasionally be blown off course, but basically, his course is either “to” or “from” the Creator. In addition to sailing either to or from, he may also be caught in the doldrums, moving neither fore nor aft. The purpose of this website is to encourage movement “toward” The Creator, no matter where one may be currently located upon the path of life. No one will be asked to convert to any religious group; however, all are encouraged to become a “maskilim.” Although “maskil” is a Hebrew term, it does not refer specifically to an Israelite; instead, it relates to any son or descendant of Adam. In other words, it can refer to any man who seeks the Creator via his spoken and written Torah.

This Is Not A Messianic Site In Disguise

The author of this site is not Jewish, messianic Jewish, Noahide, Muslim or Christian, and does not belong to any organized religious group. You, the reader, should not fear being proselytized or encouraged to join any religious group. This website is dedicated totally to research concerning the specific words delivered unto Moses and recorded in the Torah, as well as the “testimony of the covenant” (The Ten Words or Commandments) which was offered before all those gathered at the foot of Mount Sinai by God, The Creator. The primary focus of this research is on God, the Creator, and not on an anointed man, or men, of either the past or future.

Israel, Guardian Of The Text

This site and its author continually reflect upon the scribes of both ancient and modern Israel with the utmost respect. The whole world is deeply indebted to them for their diligent preservation of the Torah text throughout the centuries. It is only because of their impeccable scholastic dedication and commitment to preserving the Torah, that this discussion is at all possible. It is with great reverence of their scholarship that I humbly submit my observations of the marvelous work which they preserved for our generation, and I pray that my labors shall not in any manner diminish the meaning of this precious conveyance.

The Numerical Structural Of The Torah

Honor and respect involve elevating one above the common or ordinary. It is the writer’s prime objective to raise the words of the Creator above the words of men. This goal of spiritual elevation is primarily comprised of three endeavors:

Motivate the reader to study Hebrew revealing the unique intrinsic qualities of the alphabetical/numerical structure of the Torah text, and their theological significance concerning this coeval language of creation.

Unveil the numerical structure of the Torah, (not to be equated with any mystical form relating to gematria or Kabbalah), through scientific observation of the repetitive numerical/textual patterns found extensively within the text.

Demonstrate how to recognize and analyze the numerical pattern in its diverse applications throughout the Torah.

The Torah Is For All Nations

Israel is the “firstborn nation” of the world. As a “firstborn,” Israel was given a responsibility to herald the Torah to the rest of the families of the earth. Presently, Israel, as a nation, has failed in this divine mission; however, that failure shall be rectified at some point in time by the Creator himself. The Creator is also the “third parent” of every human being, and he has parental responsibility regarding every man. In this present time, the whole world is suffering due to the absence of universal Torah learning. Thankfully, as previously discussed above, the people of Israel have diligently kept the Torah intact for the men of understanding (maskilim) who diligently seek to know him.

Israel’s failure as a nation should not be construed as a negative criticism on the part of the writer. Before entertaining any such thought, one should consider the extremely high level of holiness required to live as an individual in the presence of The Creator, let alone on a national level composed of a multitude of individuals. May it be the Creator’s will to restore Israel soon. Blessed be He.

Repetition Is A Tool Of Understanding

The Creator, on several occasions, related the validity of his covenant promises with the celestial bodies. The sun appears to rise above the eastern horizon and disappear below the western horizon, and this rising and setting can be accurately calculated years in advance. These solar events have been repeated consistently and correctly for thousands of years. A repetition is an essential tool that the Creator gave to the scientific mind to establish theorems of truth. The Creator provided innumerable cycles of repeating numerical patterns to guide the maskil intellectually through his divine word.

Guided Reading Is A Tool Of Understanding

Many readers can read the Torah in its original language. Likewise, many of those readers have a working knowledge of both Hebrew vocabulary and grammar. However, while proficiency in vocabulary and grammar are elementary reading writing skills, they in themselves fall far short in the arena of reading comprehension. There is a world of difference between the ability to read a text, and the ability to correctly understand the text. Speaking as a professional teacher of reading, the science of reading comprehension employs an innumerous array of comprehension strategies designed to follow the narrative’s author, his background concerning the text, and the author’s text itself. This writer intends to demonstrate how the numerical structure embedded within the Torah text is an ongoing comprehension strategy employed by The Creator to provide a proper guided reading strategy from his very own perspective. The guided reading provided by the numerical structure of the Torah text is likened to having The Creator, the author of the Torah, personally guide the reader through the text.
